Neutrogena PixelWall
Neutrogena was looking for an interactive installation that could showcase their global product lines at the annual American Academy of Dermatology congresses. At the outset, Iontank defined the primary objectives: create a large physical presence that communicated the impressive stature of Neutrogena in the skincare and cosmetics markets, display actual products instead of digital representations, and tie it all together with clever, clear communication.
The result is the PixelWall, a double-sided, ten foot tall by thirty-foot long interactive sculpture of switchable glass. Capable of displaying 384 different products and fully controllable from either an iPad interface or through a series of preset animations, the PixelWall elegantly defines and displays Neutrogena's product lines. The switchable glass frosting allows products to be revealed or hidden with sweeping animations, or isolates and reveals specific product groups like a physical search engine. 80” screens flanking the structure provide additional context for the highlighted products.
A custom aluminum frame supports a series of scalable, interlocking modules that hold the meticulously illuminated display nooks where each product is housed. The entire structure is clad in black and white polished HI-MACS solid surface material, giving the wall an elegant finish.
